Up Your Calcium Intake With This Super Easy Egg Shell Trick

It seems like the older we get, the more supplements are necessary to maintain healthy bodies. Calcium is the most abundant mineral in our body, and while most of our calcium resides in our bones and teeth, it’s also essential for muscle contraction, nerve health, enzyme activity, and cell formation. We need ample daily amounts of calcium, and if we don’t get what we need, our bodies have no problem pulling excess stores from our teeth and bones. Thankfully, there is a simple trick fro, Jeanne e Rubin that will make the world of difference.

First things first, you will need to collect egg shells. Jeanne suggests after using eggs, clean the shells and store about 10 to 12 in a glass jar. Next, she boils the eggs to remove any possible bacteria. In a pot of boiling water, she places the egg shells in after separating the halves for five minutes.

Next, she lays the eggs shells face up on a cookie sheet, and bakes them for 10 to 15 minutes at 200°F. After the shells are crunchy, she grinds them in a coffee grinder. Finally, she stores in an airtight glass container. Now you have the perfect calcium powder!

The preparation time is less than an hour, and best of all, you only have to do this once every couple of months.
