The wise Maya Angelou once said, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Hurtful words may be forgotten, but the terrible feelings they foster is what people truly remember.

In the case of Britt McHenry, an ESPN reporter based in Washington D.C., her revolting words will never be forgotten.

She went off on a disgusting rant towards an innocent attendant at a car-towing company.

In the edited tape below, McHenry is caught insulting the woman behind the counter. The attendant then threatens to play the video of the interaction when McHenry goes into a full-blown temper tantrum.

“I wouldn’t work in a scumbag place like this,” McHenry says, “That’s all you care about, taking people’s money. With no education, no skill set, just wanted to clarify that.”

As if her discriminating words towards the innocent stranger weren’t enough, McHenry goes on to say, “I’m in the news, sweetheart. I will f –– sue this place.”

The video was then leaked on the Internet for the world to see. Now, McHenry’s offensive words not only left the attendant hurt and disrespected, but has disgusted millions of viewers.

ESPN suspended her for a week following the leak of this video footage. McHenry has responded with an apology on Twitter that follows:

“In an intense and stressful moment, I allowed my emotions to get the best of me and said some insulting and regrettable things. As frustrated as I was, I should always choose to be respectful and take the high road. I am so sorry for my actions and will learn from this mistake.”
