Great Danes are one of the coolest dog breeds. They look like a cross between a bear and a horse — but they still have all of the loving characteristics of a puppy. They truly are gentle giants. Whether they truly don’t know how big they are or just don’t care, remains to be unknown. Either way, their laughably big size and gentle demeanor makes for a truly one of a kind breed.
With the average Great Dane male weighing around 160 pounds and the average female weighing in at 115 pounds, Great Danes are often bigger than some people — including their owners! Still, just because they’re so big, it doesn’t mean that they don’t crave affection and cuddles. In fact, Great Danes are incredibly social and loyal, and LOVE cuddle time with their humans.
One such Great Dane who can’t get enough of his human is Rosco. Though Rosco is much, much bigger than his owner, he doesn’t care. He is such a gentle giant that whenever his dad gets home from work, Rosco dwarfs him in a giant hug and lots of kisses. Standing over 6 foot on his hind legs, Rosco drapes himself over his dad like a blanket. His excitement and happiness are so endearing, it has us wishing we had a Rosco to come home to!
