If there’s one thing we as Americans love, it’s sporting events. There’s nothing like enjoying a beautiful sunny day at the ballpark, eating cracker jacks and drinking beer. I don’t know about you, but my favorite part of any game is when they sing the national anthem.
Being in a stadium full of thousands of people all singing the same song, paying tribute to our great nation ignites a sense of patriotism in me I didn’t even know I had!
Fans at the NCAA softball game between Louisiana-Lafayette and Baylor were in for a rude awakening when they took their seats in the stands. Due to time constraints they were told that “The Star Spangled Banner” would not be sung at this game.
But for these fans, being behind schedule was no excuse to not belt out the national anthem with pride. After trying unsuccessfully to persuade the PA booth to play our country’s anthem, these fans decided to take matters into their own hands.
Do you think they were just going to stand by and let this happen? Absolutely not! Instead they all chimed in and sang the national anthem together.
When you hear all these fans singing in unison on their own accord, you’ll feel proud to be American! This is by far one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen!
