During the 19th century, Walnut Hills used to be considered one of Cincinnati’s hottest locations. However over the last century, the area fell on hard times.
Buildings were slowly abandoned, left to crumble under Mother Nature’s careless watch. When the town’s historic firehouse burnt down, it was left completely untouched for over three decades.
When developer Kent Hardman stumbled across the dilapidated building, he was intrigued by its potential and ended up purchasing the structure from the city for just one dollar.
But it’s what he does with this minimal investment that surprised just about anyone and everyone. With much commitment and dedication to this ambitious project, Kent ends up restoring the building to life. He transforms the decrepit building into a gorgeous loft apartment upstairs and a blossoming pizzeria on the ground floor.
He hopes that this restoration will only be the beginning stages of complete turning the town around…and I’d say, it’s a pretty good start!
