Strange hair colors seem to be the newest trend. From the tye-dye hair to sand art dye, the options are gorgeously funkadelic.

Galaxy hair doesn’t use a specific coloring technique. It’s more about the dye shades selected! Like the indigos and cornflower colors to bright alien green.

People know that any good beauty regimen takes hours, and this one is no different. The 3 – 4 hour process involves stripping out natural color with a lightener and applying a variety of colors allowing them to fade into each other, according to Jenny Regec, owner and lead colorist at The Paint Box, a color-based salon in Brooklyn.

This glam look requires extensive maintenance. Unsurprisingly, these colors fade fast, care is needed for it to last. Cassandra Cuccia, colorist at the Marie Robinson Salon, says, “It’s also important to be gentle and use minimal heat after this process is done because the hair will be sensitized from all of the lightening.”
