According to the College Board, the average cost of tuition for an out-of-state student is approximately $23,000 per year. The average cost for in-state student is $10,000 per year. It should be noted that the price quoted by College Board does not include books, living and other expenses. Nevertheless, $90,000 seems like a sufficient amount to obtain a degree. Would you agree?
Disguising her voice and omitting her last name, Kim explains how she squandered the money. Kim reveals that she used the money for school clothes and her college breaks. She also took a trip to Europe, which she justified as being “educational.”

What is even more alarming is that Kim is blaming her parents for this demise. She states that if her parents had taught her how to budget properly, she probably would not have been in such a predicament. Kim adds that her parents refuse to help stating that they do not have the money to do so. She believes that to be a lie because her father has worked “for a very long time.” Unbelievable!
