Hank Williams Jr. is one of the most timeless voices in country music. Many know him as the voice of Monday Night Football (are you ready for some football) but he was a country music legend even before that legacy.

One of his most famous songs, “Family Tradition,” talks about how he wants to blaze his own trail while at the same time being proud of where he came from. It kind of reminds me of Kid Rock’s career. The rock star honors the tradition of the country musicians that came before him while continuing to blaze his own trail.

That’s what makes this pairing so great. These two sing the song “Family Tradition” together on CMT and give a whole new feeling to it. It’s one of my favorite sing-along songs, and I loved hearing the two perform it together.
