Her Husband Had Yet To Meet His Son When Suddenly Everything Changed

Get ready to shed some tears because this is one heart felt story.

For those of you that have families, you know how difficult it can be when you are away from your kids. No matter what the time. A few hours, a day, a month, or an entire year. How do you think it would feel to be away for about seven months?

Well one man, named John, definitely knows what it is like. For the last seven months, he has been deployed in Afghanistan. His wife Lisa states that since he has been deployed, the family had their second baby named Reid. Unfortunately, John was not able to be there for the birth of the child. However, he believes that he is just like any other dad that is away from his family due to traveling and working, but that it can be tough and every single moment matters since time is so short.

It is a tough situation. You can see how it wears on Lisa as she cries in front of the camera. To her, John is her best friend, the love of her life, and they have been together for 10 years. They were high school sweethearts, which makes it even more understanding how sad she is to be apart from him. Reid is now two months old, and John has still yet to meet him.  It weighs on him because he couldn’t see his son’s birth or watch his daughter grow up. All he wants is to feel like a dad again and to hear himself be called daddy.

John is in for a surprise. What he doesn’t know is that his family is going to be coming to him. While he is being interviewed, you can see Lisa and the kids coming into a doorway. John turns his head as he hears the noise. In walks his family, and the surprised look on his face is amazing. There are hugs and kisses all around the family. John holds his son for the first time and kisses him on the cheek. It just goes to show the struggle of being in military operations, and how hard it is to be away from your family.

Share the love and pass it on.
