His Proposal Was Almost Ruined, But Strangers Volunteered And Saved The Day

With the amount of planning and complexities that go into most proposals, it’s a shame when you see one that’s so simple go awry. Matthew Picca was getting ready to propose to his girlfriend, Kayla Harrity on a dock in Southport, North Carolina when the absolute worst case scenario happened. He dropped the ring in the water.

Before panic could set in, Picca was joined by five strangers who helped him search for the ring in the rising tide. After an hour and a half search, they finally found it.

Kayla recounted the desperate search on her Facebook page, saying:

“Matthew got down on one knee at our favorite place in [Southport] tonight. Just as he opened the ring box, the ring fell out of the box and [through] the crack on the deck. It took five men and my sister 1.5 hours to find the ring in that water. But it was found and we are getting married!”
