Protect Your Home With These Security Tips

Data from the FBI’s crime report shows that we can expect 1 in every 36 homes in the United States to be burglarized every year. A burglary occurs every 15 seconds, and with alarming statistics like that, it is important to exercise caution within your home. The Householdhacker YouTube channel has compiled an essential list of home security hacks to protect your home.

You can hide your small valuables on a bookshelf in a makeshift hiding space. Just grab three old folders, cut the sides from one, cut the opposite sides of the others, join them together and place on your bookcase. It is will be the last place burglars look for your precise items.

To prevent the advertising of new items that you might just have bought, break down the boxes and discard in the trash or store in a bag.

We all have nosey friends, so to prevent them and other unwanted guests from looking through your medicine cabinet by removing the musical sound module from a greeting card and carefully attach it to the glass door of your cabinet. It will embarrassingly sound off when they go peeking.

To ward off would-be burglars, make cardboard cutouts of a person and leave it in front of a light in the home. It will give the illusion that someone is at home, or you can put up a sign warning that your ferocious dog is inside, too.

Other tips include securing your premises by removing equipment that could help a thief enter your home, and securing entry points. Install sensor lights, or you can purchase their kit that does everything for you.
