A rug is a home décor piece that is quite necessary. But sometimes the ones that you favor come with a hefty price tag. There are many crochet rug patterns out there. Some include square crochet rugs, round crochet rugs, doily type rugs, just to name a few. Each style is unique in its own way. If you want to know how it is done, this tutorial is the one for you.
Chandi from Expression Fiber Arts shows us how to crochet, yes; no sewing is involved. You will need, 7.5 pounds of gray merino wool roving, crochet hook, and a stitch holder.
The first step involves making a loose slip knot. Then Chandi shows us how to make the single crochets and the number of times it must be completed for each round. If you are familiar with the art of crocheting, this tutorial will be easy for you. If you are not familiar, it is important to remember two things.
First, you’re increasing 6 stitches per round. Count and make sure at the end of each round. Second, the pattern should be obvious, but you’ll see you’re working 1 additional single single crochet per repeat, each round. So your increases are becoming farther and farther apart.
It is a time-consuming task, but well worth it at the end.
