15-year-old Gabi Finlayson was beyond thrilled when she asked a boy to the school dance. So much, that her family flew her out to Paris to pick out her favorite dress. Inspired by her idol, Audry Hepburn, she found the perfect lace, classy dress suited for a fabulous little lady. She had no idea that wearing this dress would turn her fairytale dance into a nightmare!

According to Lone Peak High School’s female dress code for dances,“Formals, backless dresses and/or tops may not extend beyond the bottom of the shoulder blades. Girls’ dresses and tops must have a 2″ minimum strap on each shoulder. Shawls, boleros and other shrugs are acceptable if worn over the dress at all times.

A teacher felt her dress was “too revealing” forcing her to wear a coat for the entire duration of the dance. What should have an magical moment for this teen was instead a horror story. What her mother has to say about the whole matter is exactly how I felt.
