One year old, Aidan Walker was not feeling well, so grandma decided to give him a nap. But this is where things took a turn for the worst. Aiden suffered a seizure in his sleep and had stopped breathing. As soon as the grandmother and mother discovered this, they desperately called 911.
The mother frantically begged Dispatcher Tim Webb for help, leaving him in a position that would put his job on the line. The family did not know CPR and the ambulances were still 20 minutes away from the Walker household, but without specific certification, Webb was not allowed to give CPR instructions over the phone. With time running out, Webb threw the rules out the window and gave directions to the family that would ultimately save Aiden’s life!
Webb stated, “Without some sort of life-saving measures, the child would expire. I wasn’t gonna let that happen even if it meant being reprimanded.”
