Malinda Williams is an elementary school teacher from Los Angeles, California with a huge heart. She teaches 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade at Baldwin Hills Elementary School and has become increasingly frustrated in not only the fact that many public schools are cutting back on the arts, but also that her students today listen to, well, terrible music. Williams, herself, is a huge fan of old school classics, most specifically artists like Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, and Jackson 5.
So, Williams decided to show her students just how great music used to be and offer them the chance to put on a performance. The musical event called “The Sounds of Motown” featured fabulous singing, dancing, awesome costumes, and insanely happy little kids.
The video of the kids dancing to “I Want You Back” is sure to make you reevaluate some of the current songs on your iPhone. Let these adorable kids remind you how great music used to be. If it’s not enough to make you change out your music library, it’s definitely enough to put a giant smile on your face.
Seriously, those costumes though. Can they get any cuter?
