Cookies are important to every snack lover out there—oatmeal, chocolate chip, macadamia, you name it. And the staleness or lack of freshness can truly ruin snack time for us!
When cookies that are supposed to be moist become hard and stale, it is because they are losing moisture content. Likewise, when a cookie that is baked to a crunch becomes stale, it turns soft because it has absorbed moisture from the environment.
We usually think of keeping cookies fresh, by placing them in sealed containers with a tight fitting lid. I tend to wrap my chocolate chip cookies in paper towels, or cellophane, before placing them containers.
But here, lauri132 shares with us a quick trick on how to keep your cookies fresher than ever. This tip works best with those cylinder packages of cookies. After throwing back a couple of her cookies, she flattens the package tightly to the level of the cookies.
She folds it down to one side, then folds the two edges of the package inwards. After, she folds it lengthways down, and into the pockets.
How amazing! Just to think I was cutting off the excess package all this time.
