Is there anyone out there who doesn’t like KFC? No, right? That would be unamerican. The only bad thing about KFC is that it’s not exactly great for you. But what if there was a way to have that great KFC taste without all of the bad (or sometimes unknown) ingredients that come with fast food? Well, now there is a way!
Thanks to Jen behind Pink When, a lifestyle blog with some brilliant recipes, we now have a fabulous KFC copycat recipe that seriously tastes JUST like the real thing. In order to recreate the recipe, you’ll need:
- bone in chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup panko
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp cayenne
- 1/2 cup butter (melted)
- 1 cup buttermilk
- spray butter

Step 1: Mix all of your dry ingredients in a bowl
Step 2: Pour buttermilk in a bowl
Step 3: Place melted butter into a baking dish
Step 4: Dredge chicken in the buttermilk and then put it in the dry mix, making sure to get the entire chicken covered. If you prefer a double batter, you can then place the chicken in the buttermilk and dry mixture a second time.

Step 5: Place chicken in the prepared baking dish and top with pepper.
Step 6: Bake for 15 minutes, then spray the top of the chicken with butter. Cook for another 10 minutes and spray chicken again. Do this twice. Then cook the chicken for an additional 10 minutes.
