For those kids who live in areas where snow can interrupt school, the coming nor’easter is cause for celebration.
But for those unlucky scholars who are hapless, creativity is needed to actually get those school doors closed.
However, I haven’t yet seen an instance where that ingenuity actually works.
In Chattanooga, Tennessee, the online director of the local channel 9 news received a Twitter message from someone claiming to be from the Hamilton County School district requesting a broadcast be sent out to close school the following day.
The problem with that was when the web director tried to confirm the story, he realized it was false.

The director then had some fun with the not-so-clever student. He posted, “Hey, kids? Y’all are writing us privately on FB as if we wouldn’t report it if Hamilton Co schools closed. We promise: we will if it happens.”

The funniest tweets of them all included the meme with the junior US Senate. The director posted a fitting response. “When a kid asks ‘do we have school tomorrow’ like they think we already know what school they go to.”

In the end, the student got his wish. Due to inclement weather, schools were closed the following day. Victory!
