If you’ve ever been in the kitchen and ever had the thought, “ARGH, if only I could think of something that I could do to make this simpler, more efficient, or easier,” you’re not alone. Here are 7 easy kitchen lifehacks that will help even the best chef in town.
If you constantly struggle with trying to bat away tears as you are chopping those onions, remember to grab an extra bottle of white vinegar the next time you are at the grocery store. Before chopping the onions rub white vinegar over your chopping board. Whip the vinegar over the cutting board and NO MORE TEARS!
“Honey can you help?” If your “honey” isn’t around, or if you are alone this hack is the best! Add two rubber bands to the jar, one on the body and one one the lid. Twist, and pop goes the top!
Is this egg good? Check your eggs by filling up a glass of water. Gently drop it in the glass and if it sinks to the bottom you better get crackin!
If you are constantly using the cutting board and need to disinfect, simply cover it with kosher salt. Then firmly rub a lemon half over the board. Rinse it off and voila! Clean cutting board.
For those of us who love boiled eggs as a quick snack, sometimes those shells can be pesky! Fill up a small pot with cold water, place the eggs in and add 1 tsp of baking soda. Bring the water to a boil. Take the pot off the heat and let it sit for 12 minutes. Take the eggs out, crack and go!
Last by not least (and for us women, quite possibly the most important). Keep your wine chilled. Freeze some green grapes in advance. Once you pour your glass of wine, add the grapes to your drink. They won’t dilute your drink!
Cheers to these fantastic hacks! SHARE the love and pass it on.
