Spina Bifida is a terrible birth defect where there is an incomplete closing of the backbone and membranes around the spinal cord.

The effects of this could be anything from a hairy patch on the back to debilitating paralysis. For many people, this can be a a burden on their life. This brother and sister, however, didn’t let it stop them from having a magical moment.

Joel was getting married and wanted to dance with his sister, Lauren, at his wedding. Some weren’t sure if that would be possible considering her disability, but they proved everyone wrong.

Dancing to the song, “Brave” by Sara Bareilles, these two took the floor and dance, aided after a while by Lauren’s walker. You can see the love that these two hold for each other. The song choice is appropriate; I don’t think you can consider Lauren anything but brave!
