Hiccups have a way of arriving at the worst possible time. For little Ethan Hall, an onset of hiccups could not have come at the worse time. But despite the minor setback, he courageously delivers an astonishing performance.
There is nothing that could be more nerve-wracking than having to perform in front of a huge crowd, especially when you are a child. But Ethan was determined and ready to perform the Advance Australia Fair before a televised baseball game in Adeleide. As the 7-year-old prepares to begin, he is suddenly hit with an unsuspected bout of hiccups.
Many people, young and old, would have folded under such pressure- but not Ethan. Dressed in red waistcoat and tie, the youngster delivered a professional performance despite constant involuntary spasms of his diaphragm. Baseball players from either side of the young singer smiled at one another, being both amused and impressed by Ethan’s courage.
As he finishes the song, the crowd offers a roaring round of applause while the players take turns to high-five the boy. Commentators covering the event praises Ethan, with one calling the performance “absolutely priceless.”
His co-commentator adds, “That’s the best I’ve seen all year.”
