Allen Zderad had been blind for nearly 10 years. Twenty years ago, he began struggling with Retinitis Pigmentosa, an eye disease that causes vision impairment, and in Allen’s case, blindness. Now, he’s the first person in the state of Minnesota to receive a bionic eye, a developing technology that allows people to see light and moving objects.
Watch the incredible moment Allen sees for the first time. His family is surrounding him, but there’s only one person he’s interested in seeing. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight after this incredible moment!
