Becoming a widower and a single parent in a single moment is an unexplainable life changing event. Rafael Del Col, from Maringá in Brazil, experienced that fate when his beloved wife unexpectedly died in a car accident. To honor her memory, he recreated her photos.
After 10 years of a perfect life together, Rafael was riddled with devastation. He was left to raise their beautiful 2-year-old daughter, Raisinha, on his own.
Rafael has never forgotten the love of his life, and as a coping mechanism, he decided to replicate an idea he saw by another grieving widower he met online.
In 2009, one week before their wedding, Rafael and his wife did a photoshoot together. Rafael wanted to recreate those pictures detail by detail with his daughter.

The now 4-year-old wore the same outfits as her deceased mother in the pictures complete with the original shoes and jewelry. The father-daughter-duo pose in the exact manner as Rafael and his late wife, Tatiane, did in the originals. There is even one shot with the family pet, Raul. The result is absolutely heartwarming.

On his blog, where Rafael writes about his experiences as a single father, he published the photos. He hoped that the project enlightened others on the pain that he and his daughter still endure. But, he assures everyone they are doing well and are happy.
What an extraordinary idea!
SHARE the love and pass it on.
