Man Takes Selfie Of Himself With Wife Giving Birth

Support in the delivery room is an essential component for mothers to be. Those who surround the birthing woman can have a huge impact on how the labor goes and what the woman’s experience of birth is. It is likely that woman will remember that day for the rest of her life. One person who is always expected to show support in the room is Dad. When we picture dads in the delivery room, the ones who do not faint, are imagined to be the epitome of strength and support. I did not include taking selfies in that thought process.

But Gil Solano sure did. When a precious baby gets older, there inevitably comes a time when she will ask Mom and Dad, “What was it like the day I was born?” When that happens, Solano will have a lot of explaining to do. His wife Sarah was in labor on November 10th, and like most, it was an intense labor. But you would never know that from her husband’s face—because Gil was busy posting a smiling selfie.

In the description for the picture Solano wrote, “My wife wanted to make sure that someone took a picture of the expression on our faces when our daughter was born today. So I took one.”

Solano said that his wife was tickled by the photo. He explained, “I showed it to her in between pushes and she cracked up. Now I’m reading her all of you guys comments while she feeds our healthy 7lb 6 ounces girl.”
