Everyone loves McDonald’s apple pies! How many can you eat? One, two, three? After seeing just how easy they are to make, you might just make a whole batch for yourself!
After numerous requests, One Pot Chef recreates our favorite classic. The chef puts into a pan three green apples that he peels, cores and cuts into pieces. He then adds four tablespoons of brown sugar, a teaspoon of cinnamon, and a teaspoon of nutmeg. He cooks the apples for 10 minutes occasionally stirring until all of the apples have softened. He then takes the pot off the stove and lets the apples cool for 30 minutes.
Next, he takes frozen, ready-roll puff pastry that he has thawed, and cuts it in half. He cuts those halves in halves making four equal strips. He shows us how to wet the edge of each strip with his finger lightly. He then places a few apples half way down the pastry and folds it in half. Next, he takes a fork and presses the edges the pastry.
Continuing the process, he makes eight pies from two pastries. The charming chef puts the pies into the fridge to chill and firm up for about 15 minutes. Then, he takes us to the next step that involves frying. You can use a saucepan or deep fryer, but the chef is using a wok which he has heated nice and hot.
He places two pies into the wok for maybe two minutes. He reminds us that inside is already cooked, so we need not worry about that. He flips the pies until they are cooked golden brown then takes them out of the pot and puts them onto a plate lined with paper towels.
When you see the results, you’ll be dying to try it yourself!
