Learn How To Make This Patriotic Burlap Wreath!

Sophia Gioiello

This weekend officially kicks off the summer season and we couldn’t be more ecstatic! There’s something about sun-kissed skin and backyard barbecues that instantly brighten your mood.

For our Memorial Day celebrations, we begin with honoring our country and welcome all of our friends and family over for a poolside party filled with delicious food, tasty drinks and even better company!

When we aren’t planning the menu with grilled meats and complementary side dishes, we make sure the decorations give a patriotic spirit to our home! So naturally we headed onto Pinterest to see what crafty projects we could find. Luckily we found this easy-t0-make burlap wreath that features the red, white and blue that we love so much!

The bloggers over at Yellow Bliss Road break it down for us in this simple step-by-step instructional guide to make the wreath. The creative ladies suggest breaking the wreath into sections to construct the decorations without all the hassle.

The supplies you will need include:

– 18 inch floral wreath

– floral wire or pipe cleaners

– wire edged burlap ribbon (about 72 feet in total)

– white stars and yellow ribbon (optional)

She suggests using eight feet of ribbon per section, just to get that full look you desire. After cutting, fold each end in thirds and secure with your floral wire or pipe cleaner.

Secure one end of the ribbon to one of the two middle bars in the section. From there, make a loop from the back of the wreath and pull it up through the bottom. Then simply repeat!

The end result is the most beautiful way to welcome your guests into your home!
