The entire world is getting over the gut-wrenching moment that Miss Colombia was wrongly crowned Miss Universe 2015. The dramatic mix-up was watched live by millions, quickly corrected by host Steve Harvey and the crown was rightly bestowed on the intended winner Miss Philippines.
Half-laughing, half-sobbing with emotion, Gutierrez was fleetingly crowned and congratulated at the ceremony in Las Vegas, waving to fans as she cradled a huge bouquet of flowers. But as she blew kisses to an adoring crowd, Harvey was forced to come clean about his blunder and give the beautiful sparkling crown to the rightful winner. Imagine the horror of having your crown taken away. The beautiful Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, took it all in stride.
While many state officials are congratulating Miss Philippines on her fantastic win, one contestant believes that she should not have taken the crown. Miss Germany, Sarah-Lorraine Riek, told blogger Natalia Cruz that she thinks Miss Colombia should have won for real.
“I really couldn’t believe it, I was so upset. For me (she was robbed) as the real winner,” she said. “I was very happy for Miss Colombia because she really deserved it. I’m really not happy with the result and so are the other girls, I’m sorry to say it,” the beauty queen said.
Riek told Cruz that none of the other contestants voted for Pia Wurtzback, the 2015 pageant winner, but others are calling Miss Germany bitter.
