Parents of 22-year-old Columbian model and winner of the Miss Antioquia beauty contest, Juliana Lopez, couldn’t reach their beloved daughter anywhere. Two weeks prior, she had traveled to China to buy clothing for her clothing shop, but had been missing ever since.

It wasn’t until they contacted the Embassy of Colombia that they were informed of her whereabouts. Colombia officials were told that Julianna was arrested at an airport in Guangzhou on July 18th, 2015.

Airport security found a bag containing a large amount of an unspecified psychoactive drug in her laptop.

Now, Lopez may spend the rest of her life in prison or even worse, face the death penalty. At this time, she has very little contact with her family.

According to EliteDaily, Lopez’s soccer coach told Colombian newspaper El Tiempo the team is looking to hold an exhibition match to raise funds for plane tickets to China for Lopez’s mother and lawyer.

Apparently, China currently has 2 Colombian nationals waiting to be put to death and over 138 Colombians serving jail time.
