Every now and then it’s fun to put on fancy clothes, go out to your favorite restaurant and enjoy a yummy meal. It’s not common, however, to encounter something as unusual as this in the process.

Until now, I thought monkeys should be in nature where they belong, climbing trees and swinging from branches. After seeing this video, I just might reconsider adopting a puppy and getting a monkey-friend instead!

Meet Shaki, she is the most adorable, well-trained monkey you will ever see. Sitting at a table at one of her favorite restaurants, Shaki looks quite pretty in pink. Dressed in a fancy dress, she sits at the table dining with her owners- as if she were a little girl!

Shaki sips her water with a slice of lemon from a straw and dips into her delicious salad, very lady-like.

It is very easy for animals to be trained, but the brains of humans and monkeys are remarkably alike in how they are organized, according to research in the journal Neuron. Apparently, the regions of the brain that control language and complex thought processes have similar connectivity in both species.

No wonder Shaki knows exactly how to act at a dinner table! Cute!
