It’s hard to imagine living life in captivity for 30 years. That’s what these chimps had to endure for their entire lives, prisoners to a laboratory that kept them enclosed in small cages while they underwent long series of experiments. Finally, after 30 longs years, they’re finally freed!

Watch the moment the steel doors open and they’re finally allowed out into the wild. The monkeys are confused at first, blinking into the sunlight and feeling the grass beneath their feet. But the moment they realize they’re finally free, my heart melted!

We may not know what they’re feeling, but we sure have a good idea when they smile and hug one another. This is absolutely amazing!
