Danielle and Matt Davis were only been married for seven months when a devastating motorcycle crash changed their lives completely. The accident left Matt in a coma, and doctors told Danielle there was only a 10% chance that her newlywed husband would wake up.

Danielle made the decision to stay by his side and refused to pull the plug. According to ABC News, Matt’s father died two years before his accident and his mother was too ill to take care of him. At the time, Danielle was 24 years old and Matt was only 23. She knew this could not be the end for him.

Danielle remembers telling her mother, “If we’ve got to bring him home, let’s make sure he has the best view in the world.”

Soon Matt began to communicate with his family in the hospital room. Danielle began to replicate Matt’s therapist during rehab, and asked Matt to reach out and grab a toy motorcycle. Despite his traumatic brain injuries, this was the first time he was able to complete the task.

His recovery continues today, and Matt makes small milestones day by day. He’s beginning to walk with his walker, play scrabble and enjoy yoga for therapy.
