Girls know that a quick trip to the nail salon could turn into a multi-hour affair just trying to decide on the artwork for the nails. Here is a beach-theme design for the last few weeks of summer—ocean wave nail art. The best part is you can do it yourself.
The art is fun, pretty and easy. You will need sky blue color for the base color and other colors to add a wave affect. You will also need a small brush, a slice of sponge, and acetone.
Paint your nails with a clear base coat let it dry, and the sky blue coat and let them dry. On a makeshift station, blob the other colors. Make sure to clean the brush with acetone before you start. With the darkest color, draw the outline of a wave and fill it in. Don’t worry about the neatness.
Clean the brush as often as possible as you start building up layers of the different colors following the curves of the brushstrokes. You can stop the wave midway of the nail. Next, use the corner of the sponge and the white nail polish to create the effect of the crashing waves at the edge of the wave tip.
Remove the excess nail polish with the sponge and clean the edges with the paintbrush dipped in acetone. Finish with a top coat.
Are these rad or what?
Hurry, summer’s almost over! SHARE the love and pass it on.
