It was on May 31, 2015 in Woodstock, Illinois that 91-year-old Walter Thomas checked off the first and last task on his bucket list.
In case you don’t know what a bucket list is, it’s something someone wants to do or accomplish before they die. Walter Thomas had the encouragement and support of his loved ones when trying to complete his one morning. What’s on Mr. Walter’s bucket list is something we’ve all fantasized about, but have never considered doing. He wants to drive THROUGH the back of his garage in his SUV! Sounds crazy, but he’s doing it!
Mr. Walter straps on his helmet and gets in his car with one of his grandsons. As the family stands outside, they count down, “3… 2…1!” Petal to the medal, he drives straight through his white wooden garage with the biggest smile on his face! The 91-year-old grandpa never hesitated or flinched one bit.
Who knew all it took to complete Mr. Walter’s dreams was to let him demolish a garage door? If his family and friends that attended the big event don’t represent all the love and support a man could need, I don’t know what does!
It’s moments like these that remind us to live life to the fullest– even if our dreams seem a little silly!
SHARE the love and pass it on!
