I’ve always been a big fan of orange creamsicles. The undeniable taste of creamy vanilla swirled with a tangy punch of zesty orange – it’s the quintessential summer treat.
Even to this day, I love incorporating the opposing flavors of vanilla and citrus into a multitude of dishes, from ice cream to pudding to well, even cheesecakes!
That’s right, we discovered a recipe for an orange creamsicle cheesecake and I couldn’t be more excited! Just in time for the warmer months ahead, I’m very eager to add this dish to my repertoire!
To make this cheesecake a true representation of traditional orange creamsicles, orange zest is added to the shortbread crust, with the citrus juice squeezed into the velvety cheesecake filling. The topping is pure orange juice boiled with a touch of sugar for the perfect icing on the cake, literally!
