One of my favorite things to do on the weekends is to go hunting for goodies at the local thrift stores. There are a bunch near my house, so I know that I will ALWAYS find some hidden treasure. Often times, the things that I find in these used stores look a little bit, well, used! But that’s okay, with a little creativity I usually find a way to upcycle or clean up whatever it is I find. 

Well, this video gave the perfect idea for my next thrifting adventure. With this complete (and very easy) tutorial on how to upcycle a frame into a chalkboard, my eyes are on the prowl for any potential frames – no matter how dingy they may look to begin with!

I couldn’t believe the finished product in this tutorial – it’s so beautiful, you would have NEVER guessed it was an incredibly cheap DIY project! I plan on making a bunch of these to put in my girls’ rooms!
