One family is asking for help in finding their 16-year-old daughter, Alex Contreras. She stands 5’5″ and weighs 120 pounds. She was last seen at the corner of Mission Boulevard and Garnett Avenue in Pacific Beach in San Diego reportedly with two older men about 22 days ago.

After noticing some changes in her daughter’s behavior, Lexi’s mom told the local news that she admitted to experimenting with “party drugs.” Her parents immediately sent the star athlete to a rehabilitation facility. But in less than two weeks, she and other teens ran away. Lexi and another teen, Michael Ryan Peterson, who stands 6’1” and weighs 150 pounds have not yet returned.

Lexi’s parents believe she was abducted by sex traffickers and lured into a devious sex trafficking circle. Sex trafficking is a serious problem in the US and the world. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime reports the percentage of child victims had risen in a 3 year span from 20 percent to 27 percent. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and non-profit group, Saved in America, are working together to bring Lexi home.
