Your Favorite Candy Bar Just Got Upgraded To a Cupcake! Learn to Make These PayDay Cupcakes Here

A cupcake is the ideal dessert. It is a delicious, bite size piece of heaven. Do you think it is even possible to improve the flawlessness that is the cupcake? Many would argue that it seems senseless to try. The best we can do is add decadent ingredients (like candy bars) to create incredible flavor combinations, like this PayDay cupcake!

To make these delicious cupcakes, you will need 1 box yellow cake mix, 3 eggs, ½ cup butter, melted, ¾ cup water, 1 teaspoon butter extract or you can substitute with vanilla extract, and 1 box sugar-free & fat-free vanilla pudding mix.

For caramel frosting, get 2 sticks butter, room temperature, ½ cup caramel syrup—the coffee syrup kind, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 5 cups powdered sugar.

For Garnish, you will need 1-2 PayDay candy bars, roughly chopped, 1 ½ cups honey roasted peanuts, caramel sundae sauce, and sea salt

Preheat the oven to 350°F, and line 2 muffin tins with 18 paper liners. In a large bowl, combine the ingredients to make the cupcake with an electric mixer until smooth. Portion the batter evenly among muffin cups, filling to the ¾ cup mark.

Bake for 14-16 minutes or until a toothpick can be inserted near the center of the cake and comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely.

To make the frosting, fill the bowl of a stand mixer with the butter, caramel syrup, and vanilla, and mix well for about 1 minute. Gradually add powdered sugar (a cup at a time), until the frosting is light and fluffy. Spoon into a piping bag attached with a large open circle tip (Atecco 807). Pipe icing onto cooled cupcakes.

Next, gently press the honey roasted peanuts along the perimeter of the frosted cupcakes, and top each frosted cupcake with a couple pieces of chopped PayDay bars pieces. Next drizzle with the caramel sundae syrup, and complete with a light sprinkling of sea salt.

These cupcakes are best served the same day, but you can store the leftovers at room temperature, up to 1 additional day.
