This veteran pilot thought he had trained for it all – that is, until he experienced this stomach-dropping crash that nearly cost the lives of dozens of beach goers.

The warm sand was filled with beach towels, marking off where each beach goer planned to soak in the summer sunshine. It seemed like an average day at the shore, but then people looked out towards the horizon and felt a moment of complete panic.

There was a small plane headed right towards the beach!

One bystander grabbed his camera to record the entire experience and we have the footage below. The plane crashes into the salty waves and flips over completely. Without a moment of hesitation, lifeguards and good samaritans alike, run towards the water the save the pilot.
