Police Help Deliver A Baby After Pulling A Couple Over For Speeding

A Seattle police officer was in for the surprise of his life after he pulled over a man for speeding and the driver announced that not only was his wife in labor, but she was having the baby right there and then.

After seeing a car run through several red lights, police officer Anthony Reynolds turned on his flashers and motioned for the car to pull over. But as Reynolds stepped out of his cruiser to issue a ticket, the driver of the car being pulled over jumped out and requested the officer’s help. The driver, Abdul Abdashiek, told Reynolds that he had run the red lights because his wife was in labor. So far in labor, in fact, that the baby was about to be born.

As Reynolds looked over into the passenger seat to see what was going on, Abdul’s wife, Maly Yusuf, screamed “Oh my God! The baby’s coming out!” The little girl, named Hadaya (which means “gift” in Arabic), was born in the car moments later.

Though the baby had difficulty breathing at first, Reynolds and Abdashiek were able to clear her airway. Mom and daughter are both doing fine. The family said they are “so grateful” for Reynold’s help.

What an amazing story this police officer can tell for life.
