Kamchatka Snow Valley is a holiday destination in Eastern Russia and adventurous souls from all walks of life vacation here to participate in fun activities. It seemed like the perfect winter day to go snowboarding. The sun was shining, the snow was perfect and this athlete was happily enjoying what he loves most. He was enjoying the slopes, enjoying the beautiful day until, in seconds, it all went downhill as he sett off a minor avalanche that was luckily too small to cause him any serious harm.

But that’s not the most exciting part of this video. It wasn’t until the helicopter crew shooting the footage went home that something spectacular happened. As the snowboarder calmly and collectively maneuvers his way down the mountain as the baby avalanche follows behind, something caught my attention from the corner of my eye.  You may not have noticed it at first, but an arctic hare runs straight into this heaping pile of snow.

The hare is undeterred by the rushing snow, battling its way across the avalanche. This poor rabbit is seen hopping and jumping around with terror. This rabbit’s luck seems almost too good to be true but he did, in fact, survive. It was a true miracle!

This instance is a great portrayal of how we can view obstacles in our life. If it feels like you’re at the bottom of an avalanche toppling over onto you, you can make it out! Put one foot in front of the other and believe in yourself. Take matters into your own hands, build up your courage, and know that you can overcome it!
