If there’s one thing in life better than cake, it’s ice cream cake. The combination of rich, smooth ice cream and fluffy, decadent cake is just too irresistible to pass up. While this drool-worthy treat is usually reserved for special occasions like holidays and birthday parties, this festive recipe will have the grandkids begging you to make it every weekend!
YouTuber Steve’s Kitchen shows us how to turn a few ingredients into one deliciously layered rainbow ice cream cake. This frozen cake is quite simple to make and only requires a few ingredients: thick whipping cream, condensed milk, food coloring and sponge cake.
To start off, he creates each layer by whipping the cream and condensed milk together. Then, he adds food coloring, mixes it together and pours the mixture into a loaf pan. He lets each layer of batter freeze for about 30 minutes and then repeats that same process again for each layer.
Once all the layers are complete, he tops it off with a thin piece of sponge cake. Back into the freezer it goes to chill for a few hours or overnight. When he pulls the finished cake out of the freezer and plops it out of the pan, you’ll be amazed!
