Unlikely animal friendship videos are my absolute favorite. The amount of time I’ve spent on YouTube watching videos of monkeys and cats or goats and porcupines or elephants and puppies hanging out is actually pretty impressive and I have no regrets. They make me happy!

This video — in all its adorableness — is no exception.

Thanks to the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park Center, Colorado, who caught this encounter on video, the world is now a better place, as we all get to experience a real life “Bambi” friendship. Fittingly, the pair have been dubbed Bambi and Thumper, and if the video of the two of them frolicking and goofing off is any indication, I don’t think this is the last we’ve seen of the two unlikely best friends.

Who do we have to petition so that the YMCA will go ahead and set up a live cam of their yard? These two are so cute, I don’t want to miss anything.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be watching this video on a loop for the next few hours and crying happy tears. A real life Bambi and Thumper, everyone. Proof that the world isn’t so bad after all.
