Have you ever needed to open a can but, wait a minute, where the heck is the can opener?! Whether it be on a camping trip, at a barbecue, or even in my very own kitchen; somehow that darn can opener seems to always get lost in the jumble!

I’ve tried everything from stabbing at the top with a knife (I can chalk up most of the scars on my hands to that one!), to pounding at the sides with a hammer, to praying to the packaged food gods for the maddening thing to just pop open!

But, little did I know, there’s a much simpler way to get that frustrating tube of tin open! In fact, all you need is a slab of cement and, said can. Then, turn the can upside down and rub the top briskly on the cement. Squeeze the sides of the can and, amazingly enough, it will pop right open (no thanks to those packaged food gods!).

So next time you can’t find the can opener, don’t fret! Follow this easy trick and you’ll be good to go!
