Popcorn is my all-time favorite snack and I just can’t get enough of it! Although popcorn isn’t necessarily bad for you microwave popcorn is really really really bad for you…

There is a chemical that lines the inside of microwave popcorn bags called PFOA. This chemical can cause you to have issues with your thyroid and can even contribute to high cholesterol. So instead of ingesting harmful chemicals…make your own air popped popcorn!

All you need to make stovetop popcorn is popcorn kernels, oil, a large pan with tight fitting lid and a stove! Pour your oil into the bottom of your stove pan over medium high heat and drop in two popcorn kernels. Once those two kernels pop you know your oil is ready and you can pour the rest of your kernels in and put on your lid. When you hear the kernels start to pop take the pan off the stove and shake for ten seconds and then place back on the stove for ten seconds. Keep alternating between the stove and shaking the pan until you don’t hear popping anymore.

Thats it! Now you have delicious air popped popcorn that is chemical free! Feel free to top with butter, salt or any other popcorn toppings you like best.
