Indulge in English cuisine with the delectable Scotch eggs.
To make this delight, you will need 1 pound of ground pork, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon of English mustard, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, ¼ tablespoon of ground mace, 2 finely chopped sage leaves, 2 finely chopped thyme sprigs, salt and pepper to taste, 6 hard-boiled eggs, canola oil, panko bread crumbs, an egg, ¼ cup of milk, and a ½ cup of flour.
In a medium bowl add the ground pork, Worcestershire sauce, English mustard, cornstarch, ground mace, sage, thyme, salt and pepper and mix well together. In a separate bowl, set aside 6 shelled hard-boiled eggs.
Take a handful of the meat mixture and the hard-boiled egg making a ball. Do the same with the rest of the meat mixture and eggs and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Grab three small bowls, add flour to one, mix an egg and milk in another, and add the panko bread crumbs to the third. Remove the balls from the fridge, and coat each with some flour, bathe in the egg and milk mixture, and then coat in the bread crumbs.
Add ½ inch of oil to a frying pan on medium heat and fry until golden brown or for 7 minutes. Remove from the pan and place on a plate lined with paper towel.
Slice in half and enjoy! Cheers!
