If there’s one thing that makes me happy, it’s adorable animal videos. And those videos are even better when they feature unlikely friendships between two animals who ordinarily would have nothing to do with one another.

So it’s no surprise that when I saw this video I quite literally squealed out loud with delight. It might just be the most perfect video I’ve ever seen in my life — and that’s saying a lot.

While walking along the beach with their dog, a group of people were completely floored when they noticed a seal running toward the pup. Side note: who knew seals could run? Rather than be worried, the group decided to film the interaction and we are so happy they did.

What happened next was seriously the greatest thing ever. Once the seal reached the dog, he met him with a huge bear hug. The dog seemed to enjoy it and the seal appeared to be in hog heaven!

We’re so happy they recorded this interaction, because it made out day! Who knows, are dog and seal friendships the next big thing? We sure hope so.
