She Turns Scraps of Wood Into a Stunning Wooden Photo Wall Art

Angela Markus

With all of the pictures we take, it is hard to keep them organized. They either end up in boxes under our beds or high in the closets. This one Reddit user saw several thousand versions of this idea on Pinterest and decided to freestyle a version of her own without reading any tutorials. She thought, “How hard could it be?” This wooden photo wall art is so antique-looking; the expensive finish will have you searching for piles of splinters.

At the side of her boyfriend’s house, she found a pile of wood and decided to make it useful. She sorted through and discarded the destroyed, eaten, damaged, and burnt pieces. She kept the pieces with no paint, varnish or dog pee on it. She admits to having a tough time doing so, but she cut them all down to size using a handsaw for two hours. She got fed up and decided to use the broken rustic edges. The best idea!desktop-1440695614

She then figured how to space the wood, and to perfect the look, she realized she needed to sand a couple of the edges. Then she nailed the boards to three pieces of wood that looked like old square table legs.

After she stained it, she hammered some nails into carefully spaced areas, tied some twine around them and added the mini clothes pins that are adorable.

After, she stained the pallets again, hung string across and clipped pictures onto it. In just a few hours and with scraps from around the house, she made something gorgeous to hang in her living room. What do you think of this look? We love it!
