Okay, so we didn’t win the Powerball. As sad as this is, I can’t say I didn’t see it coming…but if it makes you feel any better…I’ve got one bit of news that will serve as quite the consolation. One of this year’s Powerball winners was someone who deserved it probably more than you or me. 26 year old single mother of 4, Marie Holmes, holds a ticket worth roughly $188 million and plans on spending this huge lump sum on her kids! 

Marie recently quit her 2 jobs at McDonald’s and Walmart to put more focus on taking care of her four children (one whom has cerebral palsy). While in the process of looking for a new job, God decided to bless her in another way – with the luckiest numbers of the year!

Marie has said she plans to donate some of the money to her church and put the rest will be used for her children and put aside for her their college funds. 

“I’m ready for it. I’m ready to embrace the change. I’m very grateful for what’s about to happen for my family,” says Marie.

Marie plans to get out of town for a bit to avoid the crazy amounts of attention that comes with a big win. In the end, I couldn’t be happier that such a deserving woman will take home the millions!
