One of Britain’s biggest graveyards has just been unearthed, and its location is pretty much the last place on earth you would ever expect. 

Under one of the world’s most prestigious schools lies a deep, dark secret that is sending chills down the spines of students, teachers and strangers alike!

While historians have been well aware of this medieval burial ground since the 1950s, the extent of its size has been largely underestimated.

Archaeologists have uncovered the complete skeletal remains of 400 individuals. However, bone fragments have been dug up that could count for as many as 1,000 more!

The site, dating back to the 13th century, stands opposite where a hospital once stood and is rumored to have links to the Black Death.

The majority of the bodies discovered were buried without any sort of burial shroud or coffin.

Among the remains uncovered, none were infants and only a small fraction were women.

Most of the bodies found were laid out neatly in rows.

Gravel paths and water wells were stumbled upon as well, suggesting people once came to the site to visit their lost loved ones.

Although a shocking discovery, and maybe even a bit unsettling, news of the unexpected cemetery is making its way across the world.
