Next Time You’re Craving Italian, Make Your Pizza In The CrockPot! This Tutorial Is Easy!

Need some new crockpot recipe ideas? Sara from AverageBetty just posted this video that she’s calling “Crock Pot Pizza”. It’s probably the last thing we would have ever thought to try and make in our slow cookers, but now that Sara mentions it, we’re kinda curious to try it. If you are too, just go buy some Pop n Fresh Dough from your local grocery store, a medley of your favorite cheeses, some tomato paste and tomato sauce, your favorite pizza toppings, and a little bit of cornmeal.

To make this pizza, open up your Pop n Fresh Dough and on a lightly-floured wooden board, roll the dough out to your desired thickness. Sprinkle a little bit of cornmeal on both sides. Once your dough is ready to slide into the slow cooker, spread a little bit of oil along the bottom of your crock pot. Then, Sara recommends making a “sling” out of 2 long pieces of parchment paper so that you can lift the pizza out when it’s finished cooking.

Sprinkle cornmeal on the bottom of the crockpot, then lower in the dough. If you want a thinner crust, cut off all the excess edges of dough and save them for your next Crock Pot Pizza. If you’re more the deep-dish-type, fold the edges over, all the way around, pressing them together to form a thick edge. Spread on as much tomato paste mixed with tomato sauce as you like. Toss on your favorite cheeses and toppings. Then turn on the crock pot!

After about an hour, check your lid for moisture. Wipe off any moisture you notice, so that it doesn’t drip all over your pizza, making it soggy. After only about another half an hour, your pizza should be ready. Enjoy!
